How Many Terminals are at Athens Airport?

Athens International Airport has two passenger terminals: the Main Terminal and the Satellite Terminal. Both terminals are connected by an underground passageway, allowing passengers to move between them on foot.

  • The Main Terminal is spread across three levels.
  • The Satellite Terminal has separate levels for arrivals and departures.
  • Gates A1–A27 and B1–B31 are located in the Main Terminal, while Gates C15–C40 are located in the Satellite Terminal.

  •  Online Check-in:- Check in through your airline’s website or mobile app before arriving at the airport. Usually opens 30 days to 4 hours before departure.
  •  Airport Check-in:- Visit your airline’s check-in counter for assistance with boarding passes and baggage.
  •  Self-Service Check-in & Baggage Drop:- Use airport kiosks to print your boarding pass and baggage tags, then proceed to the baggage drop area.
  •  Self-Baggage Drop:– After checking in online, tag your baggage and use the self-baggage drop facility for a faster process.

Know About Baggage Claim at AIA

Athens Airport’s baggage claim is located on Level 0 (Ground Level) of the Main Terminal Building. It is divided into two main sections: Hall A for non-Schengen flights and Hall B for Schengen flights, featuring a total of 11 carousels.

  • Non-Schengen Flights:- Arriving passengers proceed through Passport Control first, then enter the baggage claim area. The designated exit is Area A (between Exits 1 and 2).
  • Schengen Flights:- Passengers walk directly to the baggage reclaim area from the gates. The designated exit is Area B (between Exits 4 and 5).

Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos” provides free assistance for passengers with reduced mobility and passengers with disabilities, in line with EU Regulation (EC) No. 1107/2006. Support is available from arrival at the airport through to boarding and vice versa, depending on individual needs.
