Luggage storage and lockers

If you want to visit Amsterdam without carrying your luggage everywhere, you can store any type of baggage (Hand baggage, hold baggage, Odd-size baggage, and wardrobe) at the airport. Baggage storage at the Arrivals area is for larger or longer storage (max 30 days). In contrast, lockers after security in the transfer area near the gates will store (trolley, backpack, laptop bag, handbag) for up to 7 days for €8.50 per locker.

AMS aims to provide all the services you need for a comfortable travel journey. Wanna clean up real quick? You can feel fresh again by using one of the shower cabins at EF Filter on your way to gates E and F, which is open 24/7. 

Note: No towels or toiletries are provided, so make sure to bring your own.

Train

The Schiphol railway station is located right below the terminal building at Schiphol Plaza. You can buy an e-ticket online via NS Dutch Railways or simply tap in and out at the gates using contactless payment or a phone (OVpay). Running 8 times per day, the journey takes 14-17 minutes to Amsterdam Central Station and costs €5.50 (plus a €1 surcharge if buying a disposable paper ticket).

Bus

The Amsterdam Airport Express Bus 397 departs from stop B17 right outside Schiphol Plaza. It runs every 7-15 minutes during the day, takes roughly 30 minutes, and costs €6.50 one-way (€11.75 return). At night, the N97 night bus replaces it once per hour.

Taxi

Official airport taxis are available at the designated stand outside. App-based rides like Uber and Bolt have a dedicated “App pick-up point” right outside the terminal, with fares typically ranging between €35 and €60 depending on your exact destination.

All major car rental counters are centrally located inside the main airport terminal foyer at Schiphol Plaza. After completing your paperwork at the desk, the staff will direct you to the dedicated rental parking garage located directly beneath or adjacent to the terminal building.
