Security at Memphis International Airport 

All passengers departing from MEM Airport must undergo TSA security screening, as required by U.S. law. Security checkpoints usually open around 3:00 a.m. and close at 8:30 p.m. After that, responsibility is handed over to the Airport Police Department.

Starting from February 1, 2026, travelers without an acceptable ID may still be able to fly by paying a $45 fee and using TSA ConfirmID. It is a newer identity verification system available at security checkpoints at MEM Airport.

  • The elevators have complimentary luggage carts. 
  • Economy parkers can get to the terminal via the GTC pedestrian walkway, which features moving sidewalks, landscaping, and Memphis music.

Rideshare (Uber & Lyft)

Currently, Lyft and Uber operate at Memphis International Airport. Their pick-ups have shifted to the new Interim Commercial Curb on the Arrivals/Baggage level.
